A police officer in Dubai has been taken into custody on charges of murder after shooting colleague following a verbal spat, according to Monday’s Gulf News report.
Dubai Police Chief Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina said the incident was caused by personal differences and had nothing to do with political or ideological differences.
The incident took place at Al Rafaa police station.
The 24-year-old suspect and victim both hail from Yemen. The victim, who had served in Dubai Police for more than 30 years as a warehouse guard, died instantly. Officers close to the two men said the suspect fired three times.
The case has been referred to public prosecution.
