“I loved him so much,” says Aamra, remembering her husband killed during their flight from West Mosul. Widows fleeing the conflict in Iraq are among the most vulnerable IDPs. Living away from home and without a source of income, they face a daunting fight to provide for their families. Female-headed households represent a quarter of all the families in the UNHCR-run Hammam al-Alil 2 camp, which currently hosts over 21,462 people outside Mosul.
