DUBAI March 30: This year the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition will examine three themes of happiness, smart transformation and achievement, according to its release.

The Dubai Government Excellence Program, under the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai and under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will be held from April 11 to 13.

“This year, the exhibition will serve as a global platform for government institutions from around the world to review innovative public practices,” said Abdullah Al Shaibani, secretary-general of the Executive Council of Dubai and chairman of Dubai Government Excellence Program.

Dr. Ahmed Al Nuseirat, Coordinator General of Dubai Government Excellence Program explained how 20 government and semi government departments will showcase their projects from across the world.

“Over three days, DIGAE will see a variety of international participants. Visitors and exhibitors would be able to see wide number of innovative government services under one roof,” said Dr. Al Nuseirat.

Participants will include mayors, heads of government innovation departments and regional excellence programs as well as representatives of public administration schools. These leaders will share their stories and identify best practices in achieving optimum citizen satisfaction and happiness the release said.

Al Shaibani also said the program works to achieve the highest standards of excellence in public work, promote the shift towards intelligent systems that ensure easier government procedures, and speed up all the processes in completing transactions and services. All these are in line with Shaikh Mohammad’s vision to be a “government that does not sleep, and provides 24/7 services, 365 days a year” that is able to “come up with solutions for all challenges to make people’s lives easier and ensure their happiness.”

Over 20 international governments and entities have confirmed their participation in DIGAE 2016 including New York, Brussels, Paris, Santander (Spain), Graz (Austria), Copenhagen, Tokyo Innovation Network, to name a few.
